Dungarees Sobey's vintage | Shoes Converse | Checked shirt Primark | Retro sunglasses Vintage | Backpack Primark | Lace top Pull & Bear
Happy Monday and welcome to the fourth and final look for my special Festival Edit!
Hope you've enjoyed it, and if you're heading back from Glastonbury a little worse for wear today, I have no sympathy and am incredibly jealous of you so stop moaning that you're tired! For my last look I wanted to show you what to wear on that dreaded last day or when you're heading back to reality after the best time EVER! So I found my dungarees and Pull & Bear crochet top from out of my wardrobe and added a check shirt from Primark just in case the rain hits once again.
I love a good rucksack and this one from Primark is one I've had for a while now and it's great to carry all the necessities or if you're staying elsewhere for a night. Teamed with my trusty Converse and vintage retro sunglasses this is a look that'll make you still look 'festival-worthy' but will also be comfortable enough for you to pack up your entire festival wardrobe into a giant backpack, fold up your (probably still a little bit wet) tent and head home…

Dress Topshop (old) | Wellies Hunter | Necklace New Look (old) | Floral headband Primark (recent)
Ooft, I cannot tell you how happy I am it's Friday! But, what makes me a teensy bit happier is sharing this third and penultimate festival post with you – that's right guys, there's still another one to come on Monday (phew)! For this look I've once again adorned my luscious locks (ha) with this Primark flower crown which I am absolutely loving right now. Of course, it's not something you can wear just walking down the street or when browsing the shops but boy oh boy is it a great addition to your festival wardrobe!
I again opted for my Hunter wellies, I have a feeling some Glastonbury-goers will definitely be needing theirs too this weekend, they're so comfy and, besides the mud, are as good as new. This dress I actually picked up in the Topshop sale a couple months ago when I was in London with my brother. The main attraction of this piece to me was the fact that it was from the 'tall' range – YAY – no 'too short' dress for me here. It drapes really nicely and even though there isn't much shape to it it doesn't make you look bigger than what you actually are which is always a huge tick in my books. Teamed together I think this is an easy look for a festival – it's something you can chuck on on day three when tiredness has well and truly kicked in but the need to look great is still there.
Have a lovely weekend, i'll be watching Glastonbury festival highlights from bed while eating a whole tub of ice cream…see you Monday!

Shorts 'n' stripes
24 June 2015
Any festival I go to I always make sure I've packed these two things: a bandana and my Hunter wellies – the bandana for when your hair has reached that 'no hope' stage and wellies, well…you know why, it's England after all. As you can see my Hunter's have been put to good use, I wore them almost everyday during the Winter months when I took Daisy dog out for walks – they're pretty darn resilient and something I recommend every avid 'festival goer' purchase. They'll last you a long old while. Festival fashion is completely different to everyday fashion, I mean c'mon, when are you every going to wear a floral bandana, striped shirt, short shorts topped off with wellies? Never, I'd say!
This top from H&M is something I've had hanging around in my wardrobe for a while now and I never really could think of what to wear with it. It's quite a baggy fit so, for me, wearing it with skinny jeans was a no-no (top heavy gal that I am) but I think teaming it with these vintage Levis shorts was a stroke of genius (if I do say so myself). And if you weren't attending a festival in this shirt, swap the high waisted shorts for a pair of high waisted mom jeans! Perfecto! Like I said, I always take bandanas to festivals as a) my hair gets greasy super quickly (like day two) so I need a cover-up and b) they're so much easier to chuck on than a hat!
See you Friday for another fun festival look and if you are heading to Worthy Farm in the next few days have an amazing time!

The Festival LBD

Dress Topshop | Shoes Converse | Bag ASOS | Sunglasses Vintage
You may remember that last month I did a little vintage edit on Halcyon Velvet, it seemed to go down well with y'all so here I am again! But, to keep things topical, it's time to inject a bit of festival fun into the blog – just in time for Glastonbury, although if the weatherman is right you may need more layers than what I've got. A little black dress is something most of us will have in our wardrobe and it's also a super versatile piece to have – especially if it's this little Topshop number I bought a little while back in their sale (they have another one on now so go go go)!
Teamed with my Converse flats, ASOS fringed bag (a festival must-have is suede FYI), and retro vintage sunglasses that are so so darkened you can stare at that sun 'til the Somerset cows come home. This look is comfy and so on-trend – who says brown and black don't go together?
I'll be showing you more looks all this week and Monday so stay tuned if this is your sorta thing…

Another denim dress…
19 June 2015
Guys, it's happened again, I've fallen in love with a dress and of course, it's once again come to me in denim form! Just before my spending ban went into place at the beginning of June (yup, you heard correct) I snapped up this little baby as soon as it came back in stock on ASOS! Boy, oh boy I'm so glad I got it! The stretchy material means this form-fitting dress clings to you in all the right places without the discomfort 'proper denim' normally gives you. What I also love it that it's long sleeved – YAY! – meaning even though you have your pins out you don't feel the cold when it gets a little chillier in the Summer evenings.
I completed this look by adding just two more factors to the dress, because, really it doesn't need anything else anyway! The shoes I bought quite a while ago in a random clearance shelf in Primark, they're super comfy and actually pretty sturdy – not to mention they're in this pretty blush pink colour. Then my trusty retro sunglasses from ASOS were added simply because it was sunnier than expected on the day I shot this, plus I love them!
Have a fab weekend, see you Monday for a special Festival Edit…

Visual diary: Cornwall
17 June 2015
(all images taken by me)
A couple of weekends ago my family and I headed down to Sennen Cove in Cornwall for a little extended weekend away lapping up some much-needed sunshine. We stayed in this (horrific but quaint, shall we say) little caravan just a mile away from Lands End and with a fish n chips shop up the road…could it be more Cornwall? When we got there on the Friday, we quickly unpacked and explored the pretty beach at Sennen and took a look at some of the shops then rested on a rock to enjoy a traditional Cornish ice-cream – if you're ever visiting, try the caramel honeycomb, oh my! We headed back to our caravan, ate fish n chips and took a walk down to Lands End passing horses and millions of little bunnies in the fields along the way finally making it to the iconic signpost and the First and Last House.
Saturday was probably my favourite day as we got to drive to a couple of different beaches, Penzance wasn't that great apart from the amazing vintage store that I want to live in! But, St Ives, where we also visited was lovely! Filled with little stores and trinket shops it was nice to have a wander through the town and look at the amazingly clear water and boats docked there. Sunday was relax – and get severely burnt – day back on Sennen Cove beach, we took a picnic and set ourselves up for a few hours of doing absolutely nothing there, then ended up back there for dinner looking out at the sea. Monday rolled around pretty darn fast and it was time to head home with red faces and probably bed bugs from the old mattresses in the caravan, a true family holiday!

Sugarhill Summer
15 June 2015
Dress c/o Sugarhill Boutique | Shoes Primark | Denim jacket Primark | Sunglasses ASOS (similar here)
How gloriously sunny has it been? Hope you all had a fab weekend, no onto this look…
I've followed Brighton-based store Sugarhill Boutique for a while now and I feel so lucky to have now been given the chance to collab with them to bring you this particularly Summery look (hence the title). Being a somewhat curvier gal I know what's going to suit me and what I need to put back on the clothing rack STAT and walk away from. This dress completely works with the natural shape of 'me' and complements it completely – hopefully. I love the colours that are worked into this comfortable and stretchy (YAY!) fabric, it has a vintage yet totally up to date feel to it that I just adore.
Talking to one of the girls, Natalie at Sugarhill she told me this dress was intended for weddings, mainly Bridesmaids dresses which I can absolutely see, every Summer bride id going to want to snap this dress up for her gal-pals. I decided to add my Primark denim jacket to dress down the dress a little, retro sunglasses and flats to make it a look you could wear if you were going out to lunch or simply having a mooch around the shops. I would opt for a white blazer and wedges if I were heading out for the evening or to a Summer wedding in this dress…the possibilities are endless though.
