If there's one thing I absolutely love doing it's finding a hidden gem in the heart of a bustling city. For those of you who have been to Bristol before you will of course know of the amazing shopping centre it has called Cabot Circus, however just a 10 minute walk away from that busy centre is Park Street. An abyss of vintage and one off items, it is my go-to place in Bristol to find something unusual and completely unique with that added bit of history. I wanted to treat my cousin to something a little different before she went back to university and after a little bit of googling I managed to find this adorable little tea room called The Tea Birds with rave reviews.
So, after we had shopped for a bit we headed over to Park Street, my cousin Laura still unaware as to where I was taking her, and easily found the tea room. As soon as you walk into The Tea Birds you are instantly hit with the smell of delicious cakes and your eyes are in awe of the retro decor, from the black and white tiled floor to the chalkboard sign and Elvis clock. The king is alive and he's in Bristol. Of course, Laura and I weren't just there to admire the scenery. No, no. We were there to sample some of the sandwiches and cakes this place had to offer in the form of afternoon tea for two. At £24 for the two of us we had sandwiches galore in the form of ham and mustard, salmon and cream cheese among others and hot, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. Then to finish us off (along with out seven cups of tea served in gorgeous vintage china) the top of our tower was filled with yummy cupcakes and meringue.
Ready to roll our way home we both had a fantastic time there and if you live in or near the Bristol area I highly recommend this tea room.

This looks so cute and quaint! I love a good independent cafe, especially with homemade bakes! There's a tearoom similar in Bournemouth called Frieda's Tearoom and this is made me really want to go. Hopefully I'll get up to Bristol sometime to visit this place too!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos too :)

DeleteThe decor looks exactly the same as this tearoom in Trentham Gardens (in between Stoke and Stafford). I know it would what with it being vintage lol but the dresser is very similar. I love the china in your pictures and the pictures on the wall, especially the cross-stitch I think it is. My post on the tearoom near me is here: www.amynmore.blogspot.co.uk/2014_07_01_archive.html if you fancy a look. Amy x

DeleteThere is literally nothing better than afternoon tea! However, I'm totally addicted to Yorkshire Tea and there really aren't enough tea shops that serve that as their tea. So while the cakes are amazing, a little bit of me dies inside at having to drink tea that isn't Yorkshire Tea :-(
ReplyDeletejust take a supply of yorkshie tea tea bags with you wherever you go, no problem then! xo
DeleteHa! That's a fair point. Not sure how they'd feel about it, but will give it a whirl and report back! Ha x

I use a canon 1200D and actually edit a lot with VSCOCAM effects, purely because it's so easy xo
DeleteThis looks like such a cute place, I wish there were little places like this near me! Well, maybe there are. I need to take a walk around my historic downtown and see if I can find something as cute and cozy :) Great photos btw! They are beautiful!
