#3 Layering Up
27 February 2015
Bag Primark | Chelsea boots ASOS | Dress Primark | Shirt River Island
It's finally Friday and you can almost smell the weekend - am I right? So, of course I'm here with my third instalment of the 'three ways to wear the striped shirt' to get you into relaxation mode. Over the past couple of days the weather has been all over the bloomin' place - one minute I'm whipping off my coat while out for walks and the next I'm in full on winter gear, hat and scarf included. This look is perfect for us Brits who have to deal with this ever-changing, unpredictable weather, it's easy to wear and easy to remove layers for when the sun rears it's head (it's been known to happen).
First things first, the star of my feature this past week from River Island. This time I decided to knot the shirt - it is quite long as you've already seen so you won't have any belly showing (a darn good thing, in my books) and I think I now love it even more. As I probably have kept saying throughout these posts - IT IS SO GOD DAMN VERSATILE and this time I've oped for my trusty Primark quilted white dress underneath it and black boots and rucksack! It's the first time showing this bag on my blog when actually I got it quite a while ago and I'm absolutely loving it. I already own two - oops - and they're both from Primark and of such great quality, I love this one even more as it's extra secure with a cup rather than popper fastening.
I really hope you liked this 'three ways to wear' feature - if you're a blogger yourself I completely recommend doing them as it allows you to get so much more creative with just one piece rather than chucking it in your wardrobe after one wear.
Happy weekend one and all!

#2 Spring, is that you?
25 February 2015
So here it is, as promised, another look using this fab River Island shirt! At least one of these 'three ways to wear' posts was always going to have white jeans in there somewhere and this second look is that time. I feel like a crisp blue and white striped shirt and white jeans just seem to go together hand in hand during Spring/ Summer time. No matter what trends you're trying to keep up with, this is timeless and completely classic - plus it makes you feel pretty great. Although a tan would be much appreciated here.
I purchase a pair of white jeans every year. I wear them so much that by the end of Summer and after being washed hundreds of times it's time to say goodbye. I picked up this pair when I was perusing ASOS (a regular occurrence) the other week and instantly fell in love...falling in love with them even more when I saw they did long length - HUZZAH! I decided this look needed a little oomph so grabbed my embellished Primark clutch bag and favourite new sunglasses from ASOS and I was on my way.
The third and final instalment of this feature will be live on Friday, see you then guys and dolls.

Heeled Boots c/o ShoeZone | Sleeveless Jacket Topshop | Striped Shirt River Island | Leggings & Handbag Primark
Hello lovelies! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and now it's back to the daily grind of the working week. After a lot of you seemed to like my 'three ways to wear the trench' last month I decided to have a go again - this time using another wardrobe staple, the striped shirt. This one from River Island I had actually bought quite a while ago, before Christmas I think it was, and I knew I had to share it with you guys. It's so well made and fits perfectly, I think I'm going to be living in it this Spring/ Summer.
This look is quite professional but the leather look Primark leggings give it a casual twist. Using my sleeveless jacket from Topshop (it's out of stock now, but I've linked a very similar one above) I tried to created a more fitted look as the top is loose fitting. Like I said I added some leather look leggings to make the look more casual and my ShoeZone heeled boots that have seen me through this long, cold winter.
Hope you liked this look, I'll be back Wednesday with look number two!

Layella
20 February 2015
Layella website
I love finding different brands to talk about on here, especially jewellery brands. Jewellery can be really exciting, super inventive and not to mention one piece will never look the same on another person. It's a way to express your individuality and for brands to showcase what they love - enter Layella and it's gorgeous, handcrafted pieces that are sent out to men and women all over the world. A relatively new brand as it was only created in 2010 when founder Lucy Nazim's niece was born - she is the inspiration (and name) for the brand and you can find out more about the Layella story by clicking here.
"Layella - Unique Because You Are"
The pieces I was sent by Lucy are absolutely stunning - my favourite of the two has to be the denim collar named, very aptly, Pearly Denim. It sits perfectly on any shirt I wear, I particularly like wearing it with a denim shirt buttoned up, and adds something special to an otherwise mundane outfit. The second piece, which - let's be honest - is just as gorgeous named Berry Magic is so colourful and exactly the colours I would pick if I were creating jewellery (one can dream). This one you can be more feminine with, so recently I wore it with a simple white dress and let the necklace itself to all the talking - I received a fair few compliments too. This one comes in so many different colours though, you should head to their website and see what tickles your fancy - I bet you don't leave empty handed!
Have a lovely weekend guys and girls, I'll be back on Monday with another lot of my 'three ways to wear' posts.

Graphic Camel
18 February 2015
Every now and then I try to mix things up fashion wise. And what better way to do this than with a complete mash up of graphics and colours courtesy of my favourite online shopping site ASOS. When I ordered this dress I was 99.9% sure I was going to be sending it back but here I am showing it off to you guys. It's something so different for me to wear I was sure I was going to hate it but no, I'm loving it. The colours, in particular, are so complimentary to my skin tone and the jagged lines on the chest and sides means it hugs in all the right places and gives you an amazing silhouette.
For this look to work I needed a coat, it was rather chilly when I shot this outfit look but my camel coat was there to lend me a warming hand. It's been in my wardrobe for almost five months(?) now and I still love it, plus it's the coat I've received the most compliments about, always a nice thing to hear. Tights and knee high boots from Primark completed this look perfectly. The boots were an impulse purchase, again knee highs aren't something I've picked in the past but they were only £10 in the sale and I've been wearing them to death!
Hope you liked today's look. Happy hump day to y'all too!

Primark Makeup Haul
16 February 2015
All items from Primark PS Love range
The Primark make up range - PS Love - has been in stores for a long old while now but I'd never really thought to pick any of it up until the other week. I'd seen Becca Rose's video about some of her favourites from the range I thought 'if it's good enough for her, it's good enough for me.' All the products are such incredible value for money and I absolute adore the colours of everything from the lipsticks to the nail polishes. So let's get on with it shall we?
I'll start with the eye shadow palettes - one is for day and the other night - I decided to pick up both simply because they were only £2.50 each, whattttt??? The pigmentation of all the colours is really fantastic, the day palette I have literally been wearing everyday. I don't really like spending that much on eye shadows as I don't wear them that often, these two have totally turned changed my mind they're just so pretty. The nail polishes came in a pack of four and all the colours completely compliment each other, you could use just the one colour at a time if you wanted or do what I've been doing and paint one fingernail different to the others. I had to layer up this nail polish - I do this with every brand of nail polish I use anyway - to make the colour even deeper and obviously they'll chip less.
The face powder and foundation stick were the two things I wasn't too sure of when I was browsing, but the face powder is amazing! It's sets my make up perfectly and because I do have quite oily skin it gives it a completely matte finish...this is probably why the foundation stick doesn't work for me. It seems to be quite greasy on my skin, but like I said my skin is full of moisture anyway, so it might be different on you guys. I do still use it as a concealer for under the eyes and that works perfectly! The bronzer is amazing for that sun kissed look that I love, being quite pale I don't tend to wear an awful lot of bronzer because I just end up looking like an oompa lumpa gone seriously wrong. Lastly, I picked up a lip stick and lip crayon. Both are actually more subtle to the lip than the colours you can see in the photos, but they're still absolutely gorgeous. They also smell and taste really nice which, for me, is a huge plus however, as you would expect with lip make up this inexpensive they don't last all that long. I find I have to put a lot more on throughout the day than if I were wearing other brands (namely Rimmel) I use.
Hope you enjoyed this little Primark beauty haul, stay tuned for Wednesday's post where there will be an outfit of the day going down. Hope you all have a lovely Monday.

Valentine's Day Cupcakes
13 February 2015
To make these vanilla cupcakes you will need:
110g butter/ margarine, softened to room temperature
110g caster sugar
2 free-range eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
110g self-raising flour
1-2 tbsp milk
First you will need to pop your oven onto 180C/350F/Gas 4 and place your cake cases into a 12-hole muffin tin. Then add the softened butter to a large mixing bowl (I cube mine as it's easier to mix) adding the sugar and creaming these two ingredients together - use the back of a wooden spoon - until pale.
Add your beaten eggs a bit at a time and then pop your vanilla extract in and stir this all together thoroughly - you don't want one cupcake super vanilla tasting and another with nothing.
Sieve in the self-raising flour folding it into the wet mixture, this is when you can add a few drops of milk making the mixture of dropping consistency.
Place the mixture into cases - the recipe I used says it makes twelve, but I only made ten...I think I got too excited with some of the mixture in certain cases.
Place in the oven and leave to bake for around 10-15 minutes or until they are a nice golden brown colour (like the ones above). Once baked leave them to cool and move onto the yummy butter icing...
For the butter icing you will need:
140g butter, softened
280g icing sugar
1-2 tbsp milk
piping bag
decorations of your own choice
This part is super simple...all you need to do is beat the butter into a bowl first then add your icing sugar (sieved) a little at a time using the milk if necessary.
I forgot how hard piping was so decided instead to spread the icing all over the cakes with the flat of a knife...worked much better. I decided to use red edible dust and paper heart cocktail sticks to add a little romance to the cakes but you could use whatever you like.
And voila! Some lovely cupcakes you could give to your other half or devour yourself (like I will) if you're a single pringle. Whatever you're up to tomorrow for this (silly) holiday, spread the love and the cake! I'll list everything used in this recipe just below.
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
