On Monday I turned the ripe old age of 25 – even writing that makes me shudder, I'm 25?? How, when, why did that happen?! I'm not normally one you gives a damn about age, you're as old as you feel, my girl but boy oh boy that two-digit number hit me hard. Here's why…
1. When people ask me my age I automatically think (and then consequently say) 22 – I have Tay Tay to thank for that
2. The realisation then sets in that I'm in fact three years older than 22 and I get sad…
3. Chocolate is eaten
4. In my head I'm still a teenager – I live at home and count my dog as one of my best friend's
5. However, I also act like a 75 year old, choosing to stay in with my family rather than go outside cause y'know there's other people out there
6. I seem to gain weight far easier than when I was a spritely teenager
7. This is largely due to number 2 and 3
8. All my friends are getting married/ having babies/ living with boys/ all of the above
9. I'm not
10. I'm a quarter of a Century
11. I'm half way to 50
12. I can no longer tick the 16-24 box on a form
13. My eye bags are getting bigger, deeper and darker by the minute
14. Seriously, I look like a panda
15. I've no idea about mortgages, taxes, interest, ISAs – they're just a bunch of 'grown up' words
16. A mortgage seems like a far off land that someday I may visit but probably not if I want to live in London at some point
17. Radio 1 really, really irritates me but Radio 2 is a joy – especially Pop Master at the weekends
18. I look back at my time at uni and think 'I'm never going to have that much fun ever again'
19. I'm 5 years away from 30 and I don't have a plan! In the words of Phoebe from Friends "I don't even have a Pl"
20. Watching home decoration programmes is part of my daily life (I really want to meet Kevin McCloud)
However…
21. Odds are I'm going to live 'til at least 80 years old
22. That's 55+ years of fun left
23. I have a fab job that's (hopefully) going to take me places
24. My friends are pretty good too
25. Mum, dad, Tom, Daisy dog and Gizmo make day-to-day life pretty great!

DeleteHappy Birthday for Monday! This post had me chuckling for sure. If you have no clue about all these adult things I feel slightly better for it. The whole 'I'm a quarter of a century' really puts it in perspective though. I didn't think about it like that!
