Mermaid Dreaming
30 November 2015
One thing I love about clothes is how versatile they are, I'll often buy things thinking I could wear it with this, this and this – getting more bang for my buck, as it were. This skirt is one of those items, I bought it when ASOS had money off (when don't they?), as it's suede it was a bit on the pricey side – but I ended up paying about £40 instead of £55 – woop! It's a statement piece you could wear on a night out (though be careful, it is suede after all), a day out with your friends or I've actually worn this to work and got a lot of compliments. I think the colour plays a part in making this skirt so great and a real talking point – they do have it in the typical Autumn burgundy colour, and I was temped to play it safe but this turquoise mermaid-y colour really caught my eye. I love it!
I added some glitz to this outfit, ready for Christmas of course, with this rollneck thin jumper from Primark which was a recent purchase. I thought it was going to be a bit itchy and annoy me around the neck, but nope, nothing at all! This fluffy bag was also from a recent Primark trip and I knew I had to have it as soon as I saw it – fluff? gold hardware? and the perfect size for those night out essentials? It's my new 'going out out' bag and I can't wait to show it off around Christmas time!
The classic combo

Thank goodness it's Friday is what I want to say first…how slow has this week been? And cold! Man oh man, Winter is definitely here! (squeals because I'm actually super excited). I wanted to show you how to transition something you may have bought in Summer into the Winter months – so opted for this denim dress from ASOS, which would you believe is still on their site?! Woop! In the Summer I wore this without tights (duh, it was over 5 degrees) and with pink flats, this time it's time to layer up a little…or a lottle, depending how cold you get!
I added thick black tights from Primark, I've now gone up to 100 denier rather than 80 – things are getting wild, I know and a roll neck that's also from the high street store, which you may have seen featured on my blog on Wednesday. It's super thick and gives a little bit of interest to the outfit, as does these shoes from ASOS – a pompom treat for the eyes (and Daisy dogs mouth apparently) and the perfect addition to this look!
Have a fab weekend, and see you Monday for more fashion beauty and all that jazz!

When it comes to quality Primark have certainly upped their game, and when I popped by the Bristol store a couple of weeks ago (my favourite store – four floors of heaven, FYI) they had some great Autumn/ Winter things in so it was only right I share them with you… First up this checked shift dress with rose gold zip detailing instantly caught my eye, very 60s-esque and it fits really well, I plan to wear a roll-neck jumper underneath with thick black tights and chelsea boots for a fab Winter look. The roll-neck reminded me of the ones that were in Topshop a little while ago, and obviously this one was at a fraction of the price at only £10, perfect to wear tucked in with high waisted trousers with a grey coat thrown over you. Who doesn't love a cost chunky knit in the colder months? I've been looking for a cardigan to just throw on over the top of any outfit and this beige cable-knit style is the best I've found!

When it comes to make-up I'm not particular picky or much of an expert, but I love love love matte lipstick and crayons so when I saw Primark had some new colours to make your lips pop over Winter I grabbed a couple – I also picked up a natural pale pink. The lipsticks are long-lasting and offer great coverage, and at only £1.50 there's nothing to hate. Also, for no particular reason other than following the crowd, I picked up this pom pom keyring for just £2 – a great little accessory obviously for your keys but it also looks great on your bag, too. Something I'm trying to branch out with is colour – now, I'm pretty good with colour anyway but as you can tell with this haul I love me some neutrals, but this khaki green mohair knitted jumper with high neck got me seriously excited! I know I'm going to be wearing this with jeans and boots and an oversized scarf all through the chillier months. What is a haul without a check shirt? This is actually meant to be a dress with a belt but being a taller person I'll be wearing it as an oversized shirt – stupidly I picked up a size 10 that was on a 14 hanger so this isn't oversized enough for me, time for another trip to Primark, then.

I love me some lace, but when it came to picking between the black version and this white one I was put in a quite a pickle! But, after going back a couple of times (ok five) I finally chose the white one and I'm so glad I did – I think it'll work great for the holiday season with black tights, hair up in a bun because of the high neckline, and a Primark lipstick that I picked up. LOVE! I got another one of these mohair knitted jumpers, this time in grey – a great baggy fit, and beautiful light grey colour makes it great for layering. One of my favourite things I got in this haul now…this bag! Faux suede? Check. Tassels? Check. Gold hardware? Check. I absolutely love it, and was again stood there for a while trying to pick between this black one and the berry version – this one will go perfectly with the white lace dress!

Trying to fit a knee-length coat into a tight frame was never going to go completely to plan, but hopefully you can see what I love so much about this. I've been looking at coats for ages from here there and everywhere, I didn't expect to find the perfect one for me in Primark – I'm a firm believer in paying more for a coat as, most of the time, it has to last you 3+ years so it's more of an investment piece. But, this was only £23 and is really well made and gives amazing structure! This roll-neck is a something a little more special than your regular one, this glitter effect means it'll work well on a night out for dinner or drinks (or both) tucked into a high waisted skirt and knee high boots. Last but not least (if you've made it to this last paragraph, then bravo!) whenever I go to my favourite high-street brand I always buy a scarf and this one will go perfectly with the grey coat with the black back wrapped around it.
I hope you enjoyed this little (OK, it's kinda huge) Primark haul, let me know your favourite piece in the comments below!
Dressed up suede
23 November 2015
While I've shown you this top countless times on here (like, seriously I'll stop after this post) I just wanted to show you it one last time and how you can style it up in various ways – this time making it a little more dressed up, perfect for a fancy night out! The top is suede so wearing it in a nightclub is just not going to work, however wearing it out for diner – carefully – with friends or for some civilised drinks would work an absolute treat. I decided to add one of my favourite skirts into the mix for this look, from Miss Selfridge it's something I've had in my wardrobe for almost a year I think and I still love it!
It works well for the look I'm going for and, you can sway and twirl to your hearts content in it, as you can see in the last photo this is what I attempted to do… Last thing to add was shoes, and as soon as I saw these pom pom small-heeled flats on ASOS I knew I had to get them – while they now seem to be out of stock, who knew everyone loved pom poms? – ASOS know how to keep people happy and have various versions for you to pick up!

Every now and then it's good to get back to basics and forget about colour for a while, thinking more about the look you're going for and the materials you're wearing – do they work together? And does it fit you properly? That's what this outfit is all about, once again I'm showing off this drop-dead-amazing boots from Primark and working them into a different look means you guys can see just how versatile they are. I don't think I would ever wear them with jeans – they're a thick material so it might be a little too snug, but dresses and skirts work absolutely great, and when it does get a bit colder just pop some tight on underneath!
The jacket and quilted white dress are both from Primark's A/W last year, which proves that the high street stores' clothing is of great quality and can last that little bit longer! The bag adds that little bit of colour that this outfit needs, from Olive Cooper it's versatile and can be added to whatever outfit you're wearing, it does also come with a strap which you can take on and off, which is super handy!

7 Things I love about Autumn/ Winter
18 November 2015
1. You don't have to go outside – but when you do, it's beaut
So you want to go out there but you know exactly what's going to happen as soon as you do…your nose starts running, your feet start aching from getting stuck in the mud and the dog starts chasing all the sheep. It ain't all bad, though and once your out there – dare I say it – it's actually pretty fun (oh and super pretty).

It ain't all bad, though and once your out there – dare I say it – it's actually pretty fun (oh and super pretty).
2. Layers
It's no secret that Autumn/ Winter fashion is the bomb.com, and adding layer upon layer of clothing can make you look like the Michelin man, but who cares? It's cold and staying warm is paramount…also helps to gain weight, so ya know – keep eating!
3. Everyone seems happier
It's true, forget the crazy Christmas shoppers who still haven't found the online world and everyone this time of year is in such a jolly mood! Warning: this could be because I live in the countryside, London may not be so happy just so you know!
4. Drinking on a daily basis seems more acceptable
It's 10am on Boxing Day and you've already had a tipple of Port and a Archer's and lemonade and you're contemplating a nap… but it's cool and people will totally not judge you because tis the season to be jolly (and drinking helps the jolliness).
5. Christmas is pretty much here
You've seen the John Lewis and Sainsbury's adverts (who else cried uncontrollably at work when they watched the man on the moon?, just me?) so Christmas is definitely around the corner…there's just one ad we're all waiting for – Holidays are coming, holidays are coming…
6. Picture-perfect setting
Everything is just prettier in Autumn, and you need to make the most of the gorgeous setting – as soon as the wind and rain of Winter hits, the once crisp leaves will be strewn dismally across the road and trees that were once full of life will be butt-naked.

7. All the food, EVER
I think I've probably saved my favourite thing until last, unintentionally but rightfully so – food is top of the bill in the colder months. I like to tell myself that I need to eat my weight in Quality Street and Chestnuts because I need all the extra insulation I can get, but really I'm just being a fatty and Christmas seems to be the only time where eating your body weight in roast potatoes is accepted.
Let me know what you love most about this time of year in the comments below…
Hippy Hippy Shake
16 November 2015
Being someone who's always loved everything about the 60s, I leapt in the air with joy when I learnt over the knee boots were back (in a non-slutty way) and suede mini skirts are all the rage! This suede skirt from Forever21 was an absolute bargain, so much so that I didn't actually realise it was real suede (until I wiped it with a damp cloth, never making that mistake again). I added some love into the look with my Sugarhill Boutique heart blouse – a new store has opened up where I live and so naturally I made a few sneaky purchases! Oops.
The knee high boots, from Primark would you believe, are actually really comfortable – something I was quite surprised about – when I wore them to Stylist Live and was literally on my feet all day, they didn't rub, cut or hurt my feet at all! Definitely recommend them if you're looking for an affordable pair!
