Culottes 'n' Suede
29 February 2016
I think anyone who knows me would be able to tell you that I like shopping, and I like new clothes…A LOT! However, when new trends come about I often look at what I've already got hiding away in my wardrobe, longing to be worn and see if I can make do. And, that's exactly what I've done here – culottes and these slightly above ankle boots worn together seem to be all the rage at the moment (did I really just say 'all the rage?') and I really like what it does to an outfit.
It's still not overly warm out there so keeping your ankles covered is still a necessity, these boots from TKMaxx are the perfect pair for anyone's Spring wardrobe – and every season before and after. The culottes were a purchase last Summer in the Topshop sale (one of their many sales) and I'm so happy I picked them up and gave them a chance because, let's be honest they're not always the most flattering items of clothing sometimes, are they? I added my Mango suede jacket which has been worn to absolute death but is still looking pretty perky and a simple Primark roll neck and ASOS cross body bag. Spring-time perfection!

70s Cool
26 February 2016
You may have already seen me rave about this top over on Instagram so it was only natural that it would end up here at some point. It's part of Primark's Spring/ Summer '16 range…and I just can't wait to see the rest! While I think I may have been a little bit risqué here by wearing it as a dress (pfft, who cares?) but with thick black tights and my Chelsea boots I think it works quite well – you could always go for leggings if you wanted a little more coverage, or size up with the top.
It's a staple that's great for layering in the Winter but probably looks better in Spring and even Summer, hey why not even Autumn, as well? I love the simple black and white colour way, the stripes are the focal point so who needs any more colour?…not me! I think they had this one in a pretty white and yellow colour way as well, which I might also have to pick up and try out with jeans and boots, until the warmer weather finally comes and the shorts can come out!
ASOS Haul: More Sale Picks

H E E L B O O T S
This wouldn't have been a proper Sam ASOS haul if it didn't include a pair of black boots now, would it? I spotted these and popped them in my Save For Later then when I decided to purchase a few things from my list these went in my bag first. I really like the zip detailing on the back and the juxtaposition between the PVC plastic-style material and regular boot material – it seems to give the boots a little something extra and adds a bit of interest.

This top is something you need to size up with, well I had to anyway to get my boobs to fit into it without seeming squished. It's from the ASOS x Megan range and I absolutely love it as a true staple in my wardrobe, it seems to go with pretty much anything from jeans to skirts and underneath pinafores – super!

You might start to notice that when I buy something and LOVE it, I have to have it in every single colour…ever! So, when I saw my favourite blue denim dress was in the sale but in this beautiful burnt red colour, naturally I bought it…I love these types of dresses, they fit amazingly well (especially if y'all got some curves going on) and are just the perfect chuck on and go dresses but you still look like you've made an effort. WIN, WIN.

When it comes to me picking a favourite era, you guys probably already know my answer – the 60s. Full of fun, mischievous fashion and some of the best music *Beatles, sigh* it was also a time where women were doing away with dull and drab fabrics, instead out they came from the war with beautiful printed fabrics. That's what this playsuit reminds me of, and I love that a piece of clothing can instantly take you back to a certain time (even though I obviously wasn't there), plus this has a pretty bow detailing around the neck – LOVE!

Okay, this dress just ticks A LOT of boxes for any piece of clothing you want for a night out: fun, vibrant and a little bit sassy, it will also suit so many body shapes. It's just a simple wrap around dress but simple is all you need when the colour is THIS bright, and there's a lot of it, too with the long sleeves so I'm definitely going to keep accessories simple when I wear this one out.

If you follow me on Instagram then you will have already seen just how much I've been loving these sunglasses already, probably too much…but c'mon look how amazing they are! I love that they're really on trend with the marble effect and the fact that nobody can see you staring at them when you're walking down the street. Resting bitch face is strong in these glasses…

Andddddd finally! Told you I like to buy things in every single colour possible – I already own this super suede A-line skirt in turquoise and spotted it in this colour (still available by the way) and snapped it up pretty sharpish. As the colour, similar to the red dress I picked up, is pretty darn bold I'm going to team it with either just white, cream or black so it's not too in your face.
Hope you enjoyed this little ASOS sale haul, the sale is still so so so good but don't take my word for it, take a look for yourself…
The Perfect Striped Blouse
22 February 2016
If there's something I am never without, it's a stripe or two. The majority of my tops are striped, but why? Well, they never go out of style and they're super versatile, too! So, whenever I see a striped top hanging in a store more often than not, I will pick it up and add it to my collection – knowing I'm going to where it until it has holes in and be band on trend no matter what year, season or month we're in. This contrasting blouse from Primark is a striped top that I don't already have a similar version of – it's a standout and something I'm so glad I picked up (even my mum liked it, and she's tough).
It's definitely a top that's going to work well in the Spring/ Summer months but you can layer it up when it gets chillier as well and it'll still look great. When it comes to what you can wear it with, that list is endless too – shorts, skirts, trousers, under dresses and with jeans, it all works but I really like the casual look of just pairing it with jeans. I added my trusty (and still squeaky clean, go me) Stan Smiths and came up with a look that's perfect for every day and you can keep layering and layering to create so many different looks!
Stay tuned as Wednesday they'll be a very exciting haul…here's a clue: it begins with A and ends in SOS, EEK!
Childhood Stripes
19 February 2016
Sam's wearing a denim pinafore again! This time, this particular one was a bit of a bargain at just £13 from – yup, you probably already guessed it – my favourite place, Primark. While it is a little on the short side (but that could be as I'm so tall) I absolutely love the colour of the denim and the brassy gold hardware – plus, anything with pockets it's a winner with me! I decided to team my new pinafore with this Jack-Wills-without-the-price-tag-esque blue striped shirt, also from Primark and I love how it works with the pinafore so well.
Accessorised with my new favourite Chelsea boots from ASOS, this look is a good'un for me day in day out…Have a lovely weekend everyone, see you bright and early on Monday!

Hippie Chic
17 February 2016
When it comes to jewellery I'm more of a minimal wearer than anything else – I don't tend to bother with blinging myself up on a daily basis if you know what I mean? However, I do like to pick select pieces every now and then that I know I can get a lot of wear out of and will last me a long long time, and that's where Hippie Chic comes into the mix. Filled with a collection of bohemian inspired pieces from statement rings to beautiful necklaces and eclectic scarves to pretty patterned watches, there's pretty much everything you could ever ask for on there…
"Hippie Chic has grown from a single product to a unique collection of hand picked clothing, jewellery & accessories to reflect your personality and passions. Inspired from the world around us, from art, fashion, nature and life, we proudly aim to match our signature items with exceptional customer service." (Taken from Hippie Chic website)
The pieces I received from the lovely people at Hippie Chic completely backs this statement up – it reflects my own personal style and personality and are completely unique to anything I've seen before. The two rings (and here) is definitely what you call statement, I often much prefer going for a couple of bigger rings and mixing them with smaller ones so these are two great designs for me to have in my collection. The necklace works great if you want to add a little something extra to your outfit, you can be wearing a super simple outfit like a white top and jeans but change it up completely with this piece!

15 February 2016
Happy Monday lovely people!
Now, when it comes to skirts there seems to be a clear favourite with me in terms of shape and style (you've probably already noticed what it is) and that's the A-line skirt! My ever-expanding wardrobe seems to be jam-packed full of A-line skirts at the moment from a variety of hughstreet stores: Topshop, Primark, ASDA and ASOS all seemed to have cottoned on to this big trend in the skirt world and are reeping the profitable benefits no doubt. This one immediately made me stand up and pay attention on a recent trip to Primark as I was so surprised the highstreet chain had gotten it right – and for so cheap, hello £8 dream skirt.
Of course, the quality isn't that great, I mean fabric-wise it's fantastic and smooths your figure rather than clinging to it like seem cheaper fabrics tend to do, but the zip does jam a bit. For £8 though, that's something that can definitely be overlooked! It does up, what more do I want from a zip? I added another recent purchase, this time from Topshop, into the mix and I think the juxtaposition of white and khaki works an absolute dream – a crisp, white shirt is something everyone needs in their wardrobe and this one is perfect (oh, and at only £10 in the sale I ain't complaining). Accessories and shoes were kept minimal, when aren't they with me?, and I just added my fluffy Primark bag that you've seen a gazillion times and croc shoes from ASOS.
See you Wednesday!

Tribal blues
12 February 2016
Blue has always been one of my favourite colours to wear, it matches my (dazzling, ha) eyes, looks great whatever season and also looks great with my new hair do (hopefully). So when I spotted this in Primark as one of the items in the stores new Spring/ Summer '16 range I grabbed it and ran straight to the till – slightly over exaggerating, I obviously tried it on first – and I now can't wait to style it up in lots of different ways. The first being this super simple, super comfy, super effortless outfit! Topshop jeans, Primark deep v plain white top and croc patterned shoes were all that was needed for this everyday look, the jacket and the pattern on it really speaks for itself!
