The Smart Casual
29 March 2016
This is pretty much a fail safe look for me, when all I want is to be comfortable yet stylish (hopefully) I chuck on a pair of ripped jeans, shirt and jacket and badabing badaboom I'm ready to go! If you follow me on Instagram then you will have already seen this jacket A LOT, plus I've feature it on here before, too – basically, I just can't get enough. If you've read my previous post about this Missguided faux suede jacket, you'll know I was pleasantly surprised by it – the fit, the quality, everything. So, as I loved it so much I decided it had to be on here more than once (and twice, as it's coming up soon in another post – oops) and styling it in this different way seemed to show off just how versatile it is and how many different looks you can create with it.
The jeans have been in my wardrobe for a while, as you can probably tell my the ever growing rips that seem to have manifested, from ASOS they're comfortable and not restricting in the slightest – perfect if you're going to be wearing them all day. The white shirt from Topshop was my £10 bargain in a recent sale they had, I'd been after a crisp (but not like secondary school) white shirt for a while and this one seems to be going strong. The hat and converse all add to the look, the hat from Primark giving an extra colour, or tone I suppose as it's black, and the Converse finishing it off with a flash of not-so-bright white.
If you're a little confused as to why I'm post on Tuesday…all will be revealed about my new blogging schedule soon…

#Stepintospring with Boohoo
25 March 2016
It's Friday!!! And, even better, it's a long old Easter weekend – so what better way was there for me to start the holiday off than with a fab-u-lous outfit post? I have currently been lusting after a lot of the ASOS White collection and when I saw this top popping up on Instagram and Twitter I sought out to find it for myself…luckily it was still in stock (unsure if it is now) so I wanted to show it off on here for you guys. I decided to Spring-up this look even more with my Quay Australia marble sunglasses – how amazing are they? – and my white corduroy skirt from Topshop that I think I bought last year.
And last but not least I added these amazing tan tassled shoes from Boohoo that have completely inspired me to make my whole wardrobe (not just this look) ready for Spring. I love the fit of them, the shape is also really flattering on bigger feet (hey size 7s) and the colour really goes with anything and everything. This whole week I've been talking about how much I love Spring, but I haven't really said WHAT I love about Spring so here's my top five Spring loves:
1. I can eat hot cross buns whenever I like – breakfast, lunch or dinner, it doesn't matter – and not get judged (well hopefully not)
2. The best chocolate comes out again, creme eggs – need I say anymore?
3. The fashion. The Devil Wears Prada holds the now infamous line, "Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking!" and I love alllllllll the florals
4. Most of the time it's sunny meaning people are happier meaning people are less 'arse-y'
5. You can throw away (metaphorically) the Winter coat and head for the lighter jackets, YES!
What are some of your favourite things about Spring? Or is it not your season at all? Let me know…
Spring Homeware Haul
23 March 2016
I decided it was high time I added a few more homeware bits to my room as a fresh update ready for Spring (FYI, I'm going to be talking about Spring a lot this week, so excited!). The lovely people at Ocean Finance asked me to pick up a few new pieces that, I'm not going to lie, I'd been eyeing up for a while, so take a look at some of the bits I picked up…

This pouffe or foot stool, depending on what you want to call it, I actually spotted when I was just randomly Googling one day, and I'm so glad it popped up! I had wanted one for a while and after looking a bit more in shops etc but seeing that they were actually considerably more expensive I decided to order this one and hey presto! it was ready to be collected in store – and it was only £25! I think it was the bright colours and pompoms that attracted me to this design of pouffe, I wanted to brighten up my room a little bit and as I'm moving soon (more on that as soon as I can post) I wanted to bring something fun with me.

I'm not one to spend a lot of money on candles and I find Primark is one of the best places to get super strong smelling candles for a bargain price! This seasalt one just smells amazingly fresh and, as the label would suggest, like spending a day at the beach – it's also lasting me really well. The mug from Not Shabby Very Chic I decided to get when I spotted it on their Instagram, I had worked with the brand before so knew I would be getting a great product and at a good price. Obviously, calligraphy and cute mug designs sort of go hand in hand nowadays in the blogging world but as with candles I don't overly see the point of spending a lot on mugs so this one was perfect for me.

Who doesn't love fairy lights? I had recently gotten rid of my previous Primark fairy lights so decided to pop into the High Street store again to pick up some for the new season! I love the print of these, paisley and blue go hand in hand in my opinion and these are great if you have an all white room, or even just a one colour room to add a little something extra.

And last but not least was something I created myself – what's a homeware haul without a terrarium anyway? Most people (let's be honest mainly bloggers) add cactus or succulent to terrariums but I wanted to do something different as I already have my cactus terrarium as you may have already seen here and added some more Primark candles instead. I may have also stolen some of my dad's stones out of the garden and put the candles in at different levels to add a little more interest and depth.
What did you think of my little haul and what are you looking to pick up for Spring? Let me know!

Spring has sprung
21 March 2016
Happy Monday!
Okay, so Spring is meant to be here now – does it feel like Spring? No, not really but with all the pretty floral designs hitting the High Street we're getting there! I picked up this dress from Warehouse a month or so ago as it immediately hit my eye line and ticked the 'love for florals' (I love them all year round, not just Spring FYI) box on my shopping list. The style of it is something I haven't seen in a dress before, apart from the other dress I got from Warehouse (see that post here) and I really like the various colours it has incorporated in it, and the higher neckline.
However, I don't particularly like the dress on its own, it looks as though it's missing something and as the shoulders are quite structured on the sleeves and stick out (not great for a broader gal like me) I decided to add my new favourite jacket. I picked this up when Missguided had some money off – no, not when the site decided to crash, the time before – but wasn't really holding out any hope that it would A) fit B) be of great quality, going on past experience with the brand. But, I think if you spend that bit more – this jacket was £40 – then obviously the quality is better, and I'm super pleased with this relaxed faux suede jacket and the fit is perfect! Tights and boots are still the name of the game at the moment, annoyingly, but I think the dress actually looks better with tights…what do you think?
THE trench coat
18 March 2016
When it comes to reinventing your wardrobe for Spring, one thing you're definitely going to want to purchase is a trench coat – oh, and it doesn't have to be an expensive one, either! I picked this classic colour and style from Primark for just £14! My original intention/ justification for buying it was for some interviews I was going on and wanted to look smart, but then I thought actually I'll wear this coat over and over again, for all different occasions. A trench coat is something that is so versatile, so you can dress it up to the nines as a cover up for when you go out for dinner or drinks or go oh-casual like this look I threw together.
It gives a sort of 'classically British' look to any outfit, but adding British favourite from the French – the Breton stripe just gives it even more of a wow factor! I absolutely love my Breton striped top from Joules that I'll probably have to buy a new one soon, it's getting worn so much… Next up to add to this look were casual jeans (also from Primark) and the classic shoe for Spring, the Converse – the blue ties in with the stripes in the top and the converse give a refreshing burst of white/ off white, depending how old yours are. The last thing to add to this look was my new favourite, everyday, shove everything in there, bag – this was also the bag I took for a couple of recent job interviews as I could easily squeeze my laptop in there for my gap in between them both. It's a great size and, as it's from ASOS, it's super well made, too.
Have a lovely weekend guys and gals, see you Monday at 8 am, sharp…
Review: Resultime Skincare
16 March 2016
I'm always a little wary of trying new skincare products but, as my skin is so tired and spot-prone at the moment (not even Liz Earle is fixing it, that's when you know it's bad) I jumped at the chance to get my hands on some Resultime creams and treats. I picked up three products that have helped my skin in various different ways – all good, thankfully…

This is probably the product I was most excited to try, it's specifically designed with three Hyaluronic Acids and promises to moisturise all layers of the epidermis (cells that make up the skin) in just 10 short minutes. I decided to try this one on a Sunday night when, after a busy week and no doubt a big build up of dirt would be noticeable on my skin – applying a healthy amount to the face and neck I left it for the 10 minutes as instructed and washed it off with a clean muslin cloth. I didn't notice anything miraculous straight away – yep, my skin felt smoother and refreshed but nothing all that amazing occurred. However, when I woke up Monday morning my skin felt incredible – it seems brighter and the moisture from the product was very much still on my skin, normally when I wake up my skin's as dry as dirt so this was a huge improvement for me. I use the mask twice a week, once on Sunday and then midweek when I need a little boost, and it's been working well for the past two weeks of me trying it out.

I'm really not an expert when it comes to using 'fancy' skincare words like collagen, for example so I read up a little about this gel and essentially it's an anti ageing cream. Now, I'm only 25 – I say only, that's pretty old isn't it? – but I think you should always start this sort of thing super early, late teens is a great time to start thinking about using an anti ageing gel or cream and pursuing with it for a long old while. Back to this product, I actually use it every night just before bed and can feel my skin changing – my face feels firmer and more elastic and that's definitely due to the gel having so many great ingredients in it. It smoothes the skin's micro texture on the surface and stimulates the production of collagen, offering complete anti ageing regeneration and prevention.
H Y D R A T I N G G E L C R E A M
This Hydrating Gel Cream is the perfect hydrating duo – it's one you can use daily again with the collagen gel, either day or night! It's hydrating, anti ageing and completely nourishing, I use this product daily as it says you can and along with this and the collagen gel I can definitely see a difference. The Hydrating Gel Cream protects and hydrates as it forms a sort of protective film on the top layer of your skin, it then strengthens the skin and ensures it's protected from whatever life may through at it, as well as all this it's once again a great anti ageing cream, too! What's not to love?

Red florals
14 March 2016
So, I may have been a little too optimistic about the weather with this look, but my legs need to get out in the fresh air at some point from the chilly Winter months, so why not now? Oh, and I did fake tan by the way…I'm just that pale that it doesn't change anything, sigh. Let's talk about this dress from high street favourite Warehouse first, I think it's really flattering (perhaps a tad tight around the bust, but hey story of my life) and is the perfect little red floral dress to ease you into Spring/ Summer. Frills are a BIG thing for the upcoming season and this pretty skater dress features gorgeous fluted frilled 3/4 length sleeves and a small roll neck that is also a key trend.
As I've already said I decided to show off the pale pins for this look as I wanted to show how the dress would work in a more casual way. It would have been super easy for me to just add tights and chelsea boots (look out for a post like that soon FYI) but it's time to change things up a little and hopefully welcome the warmer weather at the same time…the sun will come, guys don't you worry. Along with my not-so-white Converse I accessorised simply with my Oasis brown suede bag as personally, I think brown is the best colour to complement this vibrant red, and the only thing you need to complete the outfit.
