Lounge Bohemia, Shoreditch
29 June 2016
When the only way to book a table is by texting a number on their website, you know Lounge Bohemia is going to be fun! So that's exactly what I did, one Saturday morning a month or so I go I text this number (that's all you'll find on their website) and managed to book a table for that night - based in Shoreditch this Polish cocktail bar is a bit of a struggle to find. Near to box park, in between a bar and a desolate shop you'll just about see the Lounge Bohemia sign in the doorway, make your way down the winding stairs and into the basement and you've finally made it to the land of extraordinary cocktails. The decor is very 1960/70s, from the funky lighting to the green sofa I managed to plonk myself on - when you get taken to your table (you may be sharing with other people but that turns out to be quite fun) you're given a piece of Polish literature, bowl of popcorn and some water...then the fun can begin...
That book you're been given is filled with a huge list of unusual cocktails, you won't find a Sex on the Beach or Strawberry Mojito in here my friend, and the choice is almost too much to handle. The first drink I order is called Lounge Bohemia Breakfast, and that's exactly how it comes - with a piece of toast and an egg that the waitress gentle 'cracks' for you (obviously it's not a real egg) into your egg cup. The Advacaat-based drink is strong, I mean it's a Polish bar so what did I expect? But, it tastes amazing and the whole process of the waitress cracking the egg really adds to the story that she tells about the cocktail. My second cocktail was more fruity, similar looking to a Cosmopolitan but obviously not that simple, The Queen of Hearts drink comes with a single white heart sweet and strong clear liquor in the glass - dip the heart in the glass and with the paintbrush you've been given paint it red. The heart dissolves and your drink turns red - just like the Queen of Hearts!
For my final cocktail my friend and I decided to pick one to share, so went for Mad Hatter's Tea Party - a sweet drink that comes in a retro tea set, and when you pour the drink out, out comes real flower petals as well. While the cocktail pricing is quite expensive and the quantity you get isn't huge, the liquor they use is amazing and strong so you really don't need that much anyway. I would definitely recommend it if you're in London - but it is book only, they don't really like people just walking in expecting a table, so make sure you write down that number!

The Embroidered Denim Dress
24 June 2016
You always have to look on the bright side, especially when you wake up to the news this morning that Britain has chosen to leave the EU...aside from the doom of gloom of what comes next - there's always fashion, right? So step aside politics for one brief minute (or two, depending on how quickly you read) and let's get a little more light-hearted right now - starting with this embroidered skater dress from ASOS. It's been hanging around for quite a while so you may have already seen it on some absolute blogger babes' Instagram, and mine (definitely NOT a blogger babe).
A simple smock dress with this fabulous intricate embroidery, it's a winner for summer that will then see you through to the winter - just add a jacket, tights and boots and you're winter-ready! But for this sunny day I dared to bare (my legs), added a simple brown cross body bad and my favourite Primark sunglasses. Comfortable, casual and chic!

Skincare Heroes

Finding the perfect sincere products and routine can be tricky, but at the ripe old age of 25 (verging on 26) I think I've finally found one that works wonders for my skin. My skin has changed over the years, being a fan of chocolate and other foods that aren't all that great for me has meant it's a tad on the oily side and spot prone. So, here's what I do and what I use to help my skin...
S T E P O N E
The Garnier Micellar Water is a God send for me, I've repurchased it countless times since first using it a year or so ago and now use nothing else to take my makeup off. The cotton pads I use are from Primark, a favourite with a lot of bloggers and for a very good reason - they absorb the micellar water and are really gentle on your skin. This means my skin isn't left red and sore from trying to scrub all my makeup off which is fine by me! Once my makeup's all taken off I then use the Simple Refreshing Face Wash to really wash off all the dirt from everyday London living, I find this is also great to wake your skin up in the morning.

If you guys have read my blog for a while, you'll already know what a huge fan I am of Liz Earle and the whole range but my two favourite products are the Cleans & Polish and Gentle Face Exfoliator. These are the two products I use day in day out to really give my face a good scrub, the Cleanse & Polish I use with a muslin cloth, just a small amount all over my face and neck does the job perfectly and then the Gentle Face Exfoliator afterwards.

My third and final step is using two moisturisers to ensure that my face is signed, sealed and thoroughly cleaned! The first one I use is the Resultime Regeneration Moisturiser, I apply this all over my face and neck and leave on for a minute or so ensuring it really gets in my pores and skin, I then takes that off with a muslin cloth wetted with warm water. My final product is again from the Simple range – this Purifying Cleansing Lotion is so good to leave on your skin overnight or before you put your makeup on in the morning. Plus you only have to use a very small amount – win, win!
The Tapered Trouser
17 June 2016
Me trying to find a good pair of trousers is like me trying to find the gold at the end of the rainbow - pretty much impossible! But ASOS is the saviour all tall gals have been looking for, their range of trousers and jeans is second to none and the extensive list of sizes they have is pretty unheard of in your typical high street store. When I saw these trousers a little while ago (can you tell I shot this look when it was slightly cold, wet and windy?) I thought they would be the perfect piece of clothing for me to wear to work, at the weekends, just any time of the week basically. The loose, thin material means they're really effortless and comfortable to wear, but it also means they do creases and wrinkle super easily too!
Teamed with these trousers is this short-sleeved cream blouse also from ASOS, white a while ago, last summer in fact I think. It's great for pairing with things that are either a bright, bold colour or has a print as it's so simple, plus the floral embroidery on it adds some femininity to the look. I layered up (told you it was cold) with my favourite trench coat at the moment from Primark and my black, pointed (slightly uncomfortable for my wide feet) shoes also from Primark. It's a great look for work, or play and I absolutely love it!
Have a lovely weekend guys and gals, see you Monday for more fashion fun!

T H E JA C Q U A R D SKIRT
A little while ago ASOS had 20% off...and the rest, as they say, is history...
First think I picked up was this pretty jacquard print skirt from the ASOS Premium range, I really love this sort of print (I'm actually thinking of getting a tattoo of something similar, but more of that soon...) and the colours all go perfectly together. I think this is a skirt that can go with absolutely anything – a plain white t-shirt and Converse, heels and a blouse, or boots and a jumper. You name it and you can wear it with this skirt, plus it's actually a great length if you're tall - not too long and not too short!

A style staple for me in the summer is a simple tea dress - super easy to just throw on with flats, sandals or trainers they're great for keeping you cool in the hotter months. This one is actually from Glamorous but I picked it up on ASOS for the discount, with Glamorous their sizing can be a little off sometimes, but this dress fits me perfectly in my normal size. From the print to the fit and the style to the cute button-through front detail it's a summer must-have!

Another summer staple is a great pair of denim shorts, I've been really loving bleached or white-washed denim at the moment which is unlike me, but since picking up my vintage MOM jeans this sort of colour has been my go-to. This particular pair is from the tall range at ASOS which I bloody love, so the length is great and there's no bum on show around here, thank goodness! I would pick a pair up in a size below what you normally are, or if you're in between sizes goes for the smaller one as the fit is quite generous.

Smock dresses make me so happy. They fit you well in all the right places, skim over the not-so-great lumps and bumps and are super easy to wear in every single season. I picked up this denim one (that's actually now annoyingly sold out) from ASOS again taking full advantage of the discount, but it's actually from Boohoo, which always leaves me to wonder if I should order it or not. Boohoo often disappoint me a little, be that with the random sizing, bad quality of clothing or just something else, but I really love this dress in (again) this white-wash vintage blue denim. It fits really well, with the long sleeves as well it means you can wear it all through the year - YAY!

You know when you add something to 'save for later' on ASOS and you think, 'do I? don't I?' then a discount code comes along and you're like 'HELL YEAH'? Well, that's what happened with this skirt, again it's from the brand Glamorous and I was instantly drawn to the pretty floral embroidery on it, which you guys may have seen on their jeans recently. The fit is great, again I picked this up from the tall section so the length is amazing!

If ever there was a dress that was meant for me, it's this one! THE perfect dress for the summer, with sandals a light jacket and a great tan – it also wouldn't look out of place this summer at Wimbledon either... With a cute little peter pan collars and in this white lace broderie design, it's a dress that's going to be staying in my wardrobe for years to come!

Mint Green Stripes
10 June 2016
Oh God, so that's twice in one week I've posted something striped! But, this time in dress form - so that's a good enough excuse right? This green stripy t-shirt dress from ASOS is a MUST for anyone's wardrobe this summer, it's so easy to wear - simply add a jacket and trainers and you're good to go - and in a loose thin material, perfect for when it reaches those HOT HOT HOT temperatures (finger's crossed that's soon).
I opted to keep this look as casual as possible, just adding my Converse, bee necklace from LVNDR and fringed suede bag. It's a simple but great look for summer, with minimal effort required, and I think this dress will become a staple in my wardrobe for many summers' to come! Just make sure you give yourself a little bit of time to tan, winter was long but the legs are out!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend, see you Tuesday for more outfit posts and naughty clothes hauling...

Cool Spring tones
7 June 2016
Now that I'm a 'proper' blonde my favourite colour to wear (clothing-wise) is blue, as I want to make my hair seem cooler I find blue helps that whereas wearing warmer colours obviously makes my hair seem warmer. If that makes any sense, i's a miracle! Primark is a great place to pick up a few basic spring/ summer bits and at a recent visit they seemed to have a lot of great staple shirts - so many that it was kind of hard to choose which one to get. But I finally settled on this white with blue stripes design that's made with nice thin material that'll keep you oh-so cool in the warmer months (which should technically be now, right?).
The skirt is also from Primark and is in this seriously on-trend button through denim which I am absolutely loving for summer, but of course it is still England so tights and boots are still the name of the game for me. I thought the perfect accessory for this whole look would be my Abbott Lyon watch as it has a pretty blue strap which goes with the blue in the shirt perfectly. A perfect spring/ summer look!
